CANINE SPORTS MASSAGE CLASS ITENERARY

DAY 1

  • Introduction of all participants’ [pets and owners]
  • Pass out training book and give time for students to flip threw
  • Explanation of how important it is to massage your puppy regularly threw development
    • 1] Touch is a great way to keep informed of all changes in your puppies’ physical conditions and personality growth and behavior
    • 2] Massage is recommended for training your puppy to except touch from care givers {Vets} and babysitters {boarding kennels} and a day at the spa {professional groomers}
    • 3] Because puppies grow at such a fast rate, massaging the joints and muscles aids in the development
    • 4] Athletic training can cause sore muscles and pulled tendons, a maintenance program is recommend for your puppy to keep their muscles limber and relaxed to prevent Injury
    • 5] Learning the Anatomy of your pet helps you understand the possibilities of injuries and the names of the locations to better your communication with your care givers
    • 6] Massage training helps you decide what massage stroke will best be used for recovery in the case of injury, or just a maintenance program or assisting circulation   
  • Begin the first of the step by step routine
    • Talk soft and command your puppy to sit or lay down. Have a routine that you repeat each time so the puppy can learn that it is massage time! You can use any words but its best you say the same one repetitively    
    • Back of neck area, with circular finger tips
    • Rotate the head and neck to the fullest rotation  turning the head to the right and left and down {never lift the head up higher than the spine} looking for any restrictions
    • Back of neck all the way to the end of tail with [petrissage] motion on both sides of the spine
    • Gently compress each vertebrae from the base of the skull to the tail with a 2 finger, one on each side of the vertebrae hand position looking for any restrictions of the spine [Acupressure]  
    • If any restrictions are found a one finger fast motion in a small back and forth movement is used to release the tension [cross fiber friction] end with gentle circular fingertip massage
    • End today with a good puppy treat and game

      • Skull, Mandible, Cervical vertebrae, Thoracic vertebrae, Lumbar vertebrae, Pelvis, Sacrum, Coccyx, Scapula, Humerus, Radius, Ulna, Carpus, Metacarpus, Phalanges, Femur, Patella, Tibia, Fibula, Tarsus, Metatarsals, phalanges  

    Begin first steps to massage

    • Talk soft and relax your pet
    • Back of neck massage
    • Rotate neck assessment
    • Neck to tail petrissage
    • Neck to tail vertebrae assessment
    •  Neck to tail acupressure where needed

    • Head Massage with circular motion using 2 fingers
    • Check eyes and jaw muscles
    • Gums are very important to massage weekly so start your puppy getting use to your fingers in its mouth ASAP … with one finger slide back and forth just inside the lips along the base of the teeth on both sides starting with the lower jaw than do the upper jaw. A finger protector can be used and also a child’s soft small toothbrush!

POLICY CONTRACT:

 

  THE COURSE ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS POLICIE: 

 

  STUDENTS MUST HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUAL, OR BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER. THIS IS REQUIRED BY STATE TO APPLY FOR VOCATIONAL TRAINING.

 

IN THE CASE THAT THE STUDENT HAS PRIOR MASSAGE TRAINING, I'M SORRY BUT IT CAN NOT BE APPLIED TO THIS WORKSHOP. KINDRED SPIRITS REQUIRES ALL STUDENTS THAT ATTEND, TO TAKE THE CE'S CLASS IN TOTAL HOURS OF ATTENDANCE   

  THE COURSE REFUND POLICIE: ALL PAYMENTS ARE FULLY REFUNDABLE UP TILL THE FIRST DAY OF EACH CLASS LEVEL. IN THE CASE YOU PAY FOR MULTIPLE LEVELS, ONCE YOU START A LEVEL IT BECOMES NON-REFUNDABLE ON YOUR FIRST DAY OF THAT CLASS, BUT THE REMAINDER LEVELS THAT HAVE BEEN PAID FOR ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR A FULL REFUND.

 

 [IN CASE OF HEALTH ISSUES OR EMERGENCES] YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PICK UP AN ALTERNATE DATE TO ATTEND WITHIN AN ADDITIONAL NINE MONTH PERIOD AFTER THE ORIGINAL DATE TO FINISH THE COURSE.( WHICH IS ONE YEAR OF STARTING DATE)

 

THE GRADING AND ATTENDANCE POLICIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

    GRADING IS PASS OR FAIL; THIS IS DETERMEND AT THE TIME OF YOUR FINAL PRACTICAL TEST UPON COMPLETION OF EACH LEVEL OF THE COURSE. IN THE CASE OF FAILURE, YOU ARE GIVEN A DISCOUNT OF (HALF OFF) ON CLASS TIME TO FINISH LEARNING THE MODALITY AND RE-TEST BY A PRACTICAL TEST TILL YOU PASS OR YOUR ONE YEAR FINISH DATE HAS EXPIRED.

 

    ATTENDANCE POLICIE:  ALL HOURS MISSED WILL HAVE TO BE MADE UP IN A TIMELY FASHION. NO EXTRA FEE WILL BE CHARGE IF COURSE IS FINISHED ON PROJECTION OF STUDENTS COMPLETION TIME(WHICH IS ONE YEAR OF YOUR START DATE). IN THE CASE OF THE STUDENT NOT "RETAKING CLASS MAKE-UP TIME",  WITHIN THE ONE YEAR PERIOD OF START DATE, THE STUDENT NOT "RETAKING CLASS MAKE-UP TIME",  WITHIN THE ONE YEAR PERIOD OF START DATE, THE STUDENT FOFITS THE CLASS AND HOURS. AT THIS TIME THE STUDENT WOULD HAVE TO ENROLL IN THE PROGRAM AGAIN WITH FULL PAYMENT. 

UNSATIFACTORY CONDUCT POLICIE: DUE TO THE STUDENTS UNSATISFACTORY CONDUCT AND DEPENDING ON THE ACT, RESPONSE COULD RANGE FROM A VERBAL WARNING TO IMMEDIATE EVICTION OFF THE SCHOOL'S PREMISES.

 

THE SCHOOL DAILY CALENDAR POLICIE: 

 

EACH COURSE IS 10 DAYS LONG. CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE FIVE DAYS A WEEK MONDAY- FRIDAY 11:AM TO 4:00PM, THE SCHOOL IS OPEN FROM MARCH 1ST. THROUGH DECEMBER 31ST. SINCE YOU ARE TAUGHT ON A ONE -ON-ONE BASES YOUR START DATE AND FINISH DATE ARE OF YOUR MAKING. A ONE WEEK VERBAL NOTICE OF A VACATION DAY IS REQUIRED FROM THE STUDENT OR THE TEACHER SO EACH OTHER CAN MAKE SCHEDULE AJUSTMENTS.

  TO MAKE THIS PERFECTLY CLEAR, ONCE YOU START THIS PROGRAM YOU HAVE ONE YEAR OF YOUR STARTING DATE TO COMPLETE ALL 4 CLASSES THAT ARE OFFERED. AT ANY TIME YOU STOP TAKING LEVELS OF THIS COURSE AND THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO FINISH THE REST OF THE LEVELS UNCOMPLETED WITHIN THE  ONE YEAR OF YOUR START DATE,  YOU MUST ENROLL AGAIN AND START ALL OVER WITH FULL PAYMENT DUE TO COMPLETE ALL LEVELS OFFERED. (NO DISCOUNTS). THIS IS DUE TO THE YEARLY UPDATED BOOKS AND UP AND COMING CHANGES TO THE CLASSES TO KEEP UP WITH CURRENT KNOWLEGE

 

  SINCE THE SCHOOL IS CLOSED FOR 2 MONTHS THIS IS NOT COUNTED TOWARDS YOUR ONE YEAR. A STUDENT THAT STARTS DECEMBER 1ST. WILL STILL HAVE 11 MONTHS TO FINISH ALL LEVELS STARTING ON MARCH 1ST.
