   About the Instructor Sandra Galbraith of Kindred Spirits School of Massage and Private Clinic

Hello,My name is Sandra Galbraith. I am the owner and instructor of Kindred Spirits Clinic and School. I have been a resident of Alaska since 1975.

   I came to being a long time health care maintenance provider by starting out first learning techniques to provided for my own needs.

   In 1973 my Father and I were surfing the waves at Huntington beach, CA, when a big wave crushed me into the sand, resulting in tissue trauma and pain discomfort in my back. My parents sought out alternatives to the Doctors suggestion of surgery. At times the pain was so bad I did not dare move. My Mother had heard from a friend a new approach to pain relief practiced by an unknown clinic called Chiropractic Care, not well known in that day, my Father took me in for a treatment. To my surprise I walked out of the clinic with relief from my pain.

   Chiropractic Clinic's have more respect in the field of health care providers since those times. I had full range of motion in my skeletal structure after just a few sessions, but I still suffered from  reoccuring sore tight muscles and restricted muscle mobility.

   It was in the year of enlightenment. Lots of new therapies, ideas, approaches and culture had come available for the health care and healing process. I took a yoga class to learn how to stretch and strengthen my body to regain mobility. My instructor at orange county community college taught me acupressure massage for relaxation and rehabilitation of the muscle tissue.

   I still maintain a pain-free life through a regular health maintenance program.Since than over the years I have studied many modalities and I am Certified in over 17 different techniques. I have taken a 500 hour professional course of massage in 1994-96 and have had an open practice since 1997.

Sandra Galbraith LMT has been practicing Manual Therapy since 1974 and is owner of Kindred Spirits School Of Massage. She is also in practice at Kindred Spirits Therapeutic Massage. Sandra is writing a Manual for training on Ocean Sway Orthopedic bodywork techniques at this time. This Manual will be available soon for Therapists to understand how to perform  "Ocean Sway Orthopedic Massage and Bodywork" technique's and add a self-care book with instruction to teach stretching to their clients in a safe and pain free method.
